Set Design | Mobile Frame

The Mobile Frame

Three interactions will hang from the mobile. Three different shapes; a fish, a flower and a butterfly. Siobhán and Fodhla are making the technology, and Annie's mum is decorating the plastic canvas frame. They are going to be amazing!

Alannagh made a great job of the mobile. See the mock-up design here.

Set Design | Microphone Interaction

Alannagh worked hard today on set design. In fact, Alannagh made so much progress it will have to be blogged over several posts! She's amazing at this kind of thing, take a look...

Alannagh handmade the flowers from paper & attached them to the lights.

Materials

I am wondering what the safety guidelines are for the exhibition space. This ornamental bark would go a long way in setting our forest floor scene. It's on offer for a low price in Aldi tomorrow.

It would look great along the edge of our green fleece material that will have crochet flowers strewn across it.

There is also an offer on yarn this week. Already we've had a lot of yarn donated to our project but at €3.99 for three 50g balls I decided to pick up some in black.

Does anyone know the dimensions of the assembled exhibition kit?  We need to know the size of the floor area so we can map it out on the floor at home to judge if we have enough crochet flowers and fleece material.

Bloomin' Lovely

The first flowers bloom in REplay Forest...

My family lent a helping hand tonight.

Mam crocheting a flower in chunky yarn
Well done ladies, 15 flowers made tonight :)
Take a closer look at tonights progress...

The dimensions of the exhibition space will determine the amount of flowers needed to decorate the grass bank, I am aiming for one-hundred.

Recycling Freebies

Alannagh and I sourced materials for the set design today and managed to come away from our local V&W Recycle Centre in Dundalk with a large bag of shredded paper. We will spray paint the paper green to use as grass on the exhibition floor.
